The purpose of therapy, as I see it, is to help people get beyond a state of elementary survival- that place where all of their energy simply goes into making it through each and every day. There seems to be little left over to get creative or to motivate yourself to go for a walk or to take that class or to just meditate. You seem to be asking yourself constantly: “Isn’t there more to my life than mere existence?” I refer to this predicament as revolution (walking in circles) as compared to evolution (expanding your horizons). Therapy is a place to seek your direction.
